1st half of 2022, China MMA production will increase by 14% year-on-year

In 2021, the domestic MMA output will be around 1.1 million tons. In 2022, with the increase of new capacity, the output will keep growing. According to the statistics, the preliminary estimate of MMA output in the first half of the year is above 600,000 tons, with an estimated growth of about 14%.

It is estimated that the average monthly output of MMA in the first half of 2022 will be around 100,000 tons, which is conservatively estimated to be about 12,000 tons higher than the average monthly output of the same period in 2021. As can be seen from the figure above, the regional distribution of DOMESTIC MMA production is mainly concentrated in East China, accounting for 40%, followed by Shandong Province, accounting for 25%. In addition, northeast, southwest and South China account for 16%, 12% and 7%, respectively.

In the first quarter of 2022, there were 3 MMA new capacity with a total of 275,000 tons of new capacity, mainly in Shandong province and East China. By the end of the first quarter, domestic MMA capacity reached 1.83 million tons, up 17.68% from 2021.

In Q2 2022, Shandong Hongxu plans to expand capacity, Jiangsu Jiankun plans to put into production, domestic MMA capacity continues to increase, the specific progress still needs to be followed up. Overall, domestic MMA production is expected to reach more than 600,000 tons in the first half of 2022.
