According to China customs statistics, domestic exports of maleic anhydride in May were 3520.12 tons, down 15.8% month-on-month and down 58.83% year-on-year; the total export value was US$2458821 and the average export price was US$698.5/ton, down 8.38% month-on-month and down 28.96% year-on-year. From January to May 2020, the cumulative export volume was 33574.61 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 12.21%.
Global public health events in May are still not optimistic. The number of new infections in the United States, India, Brazil, Russia and other countries continues to increase. Worldwide public health events show a new trend of shifting from Europe to the Americas and from developed countries to developing countries. Under this circumstance, the maleic anhydride foreign trade market, which is dominated by developing countries, is still grim, and it is difficult to make a change in the short term.
On the whole, in addition to the significant recovery of domestic maleic anhydride exports to the South Asian market in May, exports to traditional major markets such as Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America have not improved.
In terms of specific countries or regions, domestic maleic anhydride exports to the Turkish market reached 845 tons in May, ranking first with a market share of 24%; exports to the Brazilian market reached 394 tons, ranking second with an 11% share; and Germany The market export volume is 329.62 tons, occupying the third place with 9% share. The Indian market recovered faster in May, and the market ranking increased significantly to fourth place. The rest are Malaysia, UAE, Egypt, Pakistan and other countries and regions.
From the point of view of domestic export company registrations, Shandong Province returned to the top in May, with 63% of the market share; Jiangsu Province rose to the second place with a market share of 13%; Henan Province fell to the third place from last month Market share dropped to 8%. The rest are Anhui, Zhejiang, Liaoning, and Shanghai.
